Sack Boards-1The old Sacklunch Forums are back up and alive in all their gory. Check them out. As to where the content is, we’re still working on that. In the meantime, might we suggest checking out: Boardistan.com. It appears that The Editors of that site are on some kind of parallel path with us. It feels a little like those Mirror Universe episodes of the original Star Trek series.

Burton SoupBurton Snowboards has collaborated with The Andy Warhol Foundation to create a limited edition collection of snowboards, boots, and other cools stuff. Ever the sportsman, Andy probably would have loved having his art on a line of quality action sports consumer goods. Plus, we’re guessing working with dead artists is a whole lot easier than dealing with those who are still with us. All the details after the jump.

Theyard-1We posted the Label Lab PR so we’ve really no business making fun of this special trade show zone, but we will anyway. SIA has created a two-story structure called the Yard. And it will be a place for all the new brands to band together and show off as one. It is described as follows:

the YARD is designed with an urban street atmosphere in mind that is determined to clearly define the diverse trends that will be displayed.

Yeah, kind of like real Hawaiian food served in an authentic, medieval dungeon atmosphere. The rest after the jump.

Em-Bishop-HeroIf you want to move product, why not hook up for a reportedly reformed Chicago street prostitute manager?

Being from the suburbs we’ll never understand the intricacies of “The Game,” “The Player’s Ball,” or his “vision from the Most High” however, Emerica’s new Don “Magic” Juan high top is, like the man hisself, loud and pimpin’. All the official details after the jump.

Wade MartinWe got the nicest (seriously) email today from Wade Martin, the General Manager of The Dew Action Sports Tour. It included a wrap up of all the wonderful things The Dew Action Sports Tour did last year. Of course, Wade included few hard numbers. The on-site attendance was up 17,000 (which is 7% over year one). Their website pageviews “increased by more than 50%.” Yet, Wade made no mention of the tour’s TV ratings. Wonder why? Read the entire letter after the jump.

Qse Web AnouncmentIf you like dressing like a surfer and you’re old or just prematurely grey, then Quiksilver would really like you to check out their new QuikSilverEdition website. You’ll be able to check out photos of handsome, familiar older surfers, at Malibu (with a hot blonde), or some more urban familiar faces out on the streets of Santa Monica with the same hot blonde (she gets around). But you won’t be able to purchase anything because Quik still doesn’t do e-commerce. If you can believe that?

Univ + Chris Miller-1UNIV is proudly featuring three of three individual handpainted, custom-shaped skateboards designed by skateboarding legend Chris Miller. Get one while there is still one left. Honestly, they’re probably already gone. But we thought we’d tell you about them anyway.

Trade shows, whatever. Newsletters, fine. What trade organizations like the SIA are really good for is saving money on bringing products in from third-world manufacturing centers. Seriously. Chinese snowboard boots are expensive enough without having to pay a four percent tarrif. Aren’t they?

Welcome to Sacklunch 3.0. Roll around. Check it out. And let us know what you think. You can simply click the comments link below this post and let us know immediately. Or, you can click the FORUM button up in the navigation and go soak in the completely redesigned Sacklunch Forum.

One thing about those new, orange navigation items up top. They are not new “sections” of the site. They are simply category links for the purists who don’t want to muck around in the stuff they don’t care about. If you only care about Skateboarding then click the SKATE button and you’ll get only the SKATE entries. You don’t have to use those, but if you want to bask in the warmth of the data you care about and nothing else, then do it.

We’re still getting the bugs out, so if you see anything, please let us know.

Ta, dah!!
