“The new ASPT mark and logo provide our property with a consistent messaging and the opportunity to expand under one umbrella,” said Wade Martin, President of the ASPT Dew Tour. “Not unlike NASCAR or the PGA Tour, we want the ASPT to be seen as the gold standard in competitive action sports.”

ASPT DEW TOUR ANNOUNCES REBRANDING INITIATIVE
Dew Action Sports Tour Renamed as ASPT Dew Tour, The Action Sports Pro Tour

NEW YORK – February 26, 2007 – The ASPT Dew Tour, the Action Sports Pro Tour, today announced a rebranding initiative and will move away from the moniker used for the past two years, the Dew Action Sports Tour. The ASPT, or Action Sports Pro Tour, will become the umbrella brand of the organization with the ASPT Dew Tour remaining as the premiere summer action sports tour.

The new name and logos were unveiled earlier this month at the annual ASPT Dew Tour summit on February 7, 2207. The ASPT Dew Tour logo retains a similar look and feel to the Dew Action Sports Tour logo, allowing partners to seamlessly integrate the ASPT Dew Tour mark into their marketing communication for the 2007 season.

Event Date Location
Right Guard Open July 19-22 Cleveland, Ohio
Vans Invitational Aug. 16-19 Portland, Ore.
Toyota Challenge Sept. 20-23 Salt Lake City, Utah
PlayStation® Pro Oct. 18-21 Orlando, Fla.

Entering its third year, the ASPT Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Attendance for the 2006 ASPT Dew Tour totaled nearly 250,000 and had an average of 38 million viewers tuning in via NBC and USA each year. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year’s Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup which will be awarded in Orlando at season’s end to champions in each of the six disciplines. The 2006 Dew Cup winners include Nate Adams (Freestyle Motocross), Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Anthony Napolitan (BMX Dirt), Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), Bucky Lasek (Skateboard Vert) and Ryan Sheckler (Skateboard Park). A complete 2007 schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

The ASPT Dew Tour
Owned by NBC Universal and Live Nation, the ASPT Dew Tour, the Action Sports Pro Tour, debuted in June 2005 and consists of five major, multi-sport events with a cumulative points system, a $2.5 million competitive purse – the largest in action sports – and an additional $1 million bonus pool based upon year-end standings. NBC and USA Network combine for exclusive ASPT Dew Tour coverage with the largest combined network and cable commitment in action sports. The ASPT Dew Tour is distributed in over 230 million homes worldwide and in over 100 countries. The Tour features skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert, and dirt) and freestyle motocross, and at season’s end, the Tour awards champions in the six disciplines with the Dew Cup. Key lifestyle elements at each Tour event include the festival village with video gaming and interactive events, as well as live cutting edge music. The ASPT Dew Tour returns all of its founding partners including Mountain Dew (tour title sponsor); and Panasonic, Right Guard Xtreme, Vans®, Toyota and PlayStation® (event title sponsors).

We’ve said it repeatedly, but one of the few walls standing between Fuel TV and a much, much larger audience is that linear TV is dead and they don’t have enough going on the web. It appears that this may change now that Lee Pearson has joined the Fuel team as Director of New Media.

Reporting to Olivares, Pearson is responsible for strategy and operations of non-linear network initiatives including Internet, mobile and other digital platforms. Pearson will continue to build relationships with all technical, content and development vendors in association with FUEL TV’s existing new media businesses, while exploring strategic partnerships to enhance FUEL TV’s position in the marketplace.

FUEL TV NAMES LEE PEARSON DIRECTOR NEW MEDIA AND DIANA KRUPA
MANAGER OF ACQUISITIONS

LOS ANGELES, CA – Effective immediately, Lee Pearson joins FUEL TV in the newly created position of Director of New Media and Diana Krupa steps in as the network’s Manager of Acquisitions, it was announced today by CJ Olivares, FUEL TV’s Senior Vice President and Assistant General Manager. Now in 24 million homes, FUEL TV is the only 24/7 network in the United States dedicated to the lifestyle of action sports.

“We’re excited to have Lee on staff to manage our continued expansion into new platforms,” says Olivares. “This move is a giant step forward in establishing and allowing our customers to consume FUEL TV’s content wherever and whenever they want.”

Pearson joins FUEL TV after most recently serving as President, Advertising at Goldpocket Interactive where he was responsible for its interactive TV (iTV) advertising division.

“The authentic lifestyle programming and targeted audience of FUEL TV is a perfect match for the explosion of digital opportunities,” says Pearson. “I’m ecstatic at the new integrated experiences and advertiser value the FUEL TV team is now creating.”

As manager of FUEL TV’s licensed acquisitions, Krupa is responsible for managing the receipt of all program submissions for potential license and/or development. As a previous co-creator and producer of branded entertainment at Quiksilver Inc., Krupa’s experience is invaluable as she will negotiate key deal points and terms with content providers and respond to both solicited and unsolicited pitches and submissions.

“Diana is a key addition to the FUEL TV staff because our programming mix relies on a balance of FUEL TV originals and a strong dose of outside content,” says Shon Tomlin, VP of Programming and Development, FUEL TV. “Diana’s role ensures that we maintain the quality of our licensed films, events and specials.”

Prior to Goldpocket, Pearson was CEO of Hub360, Inc., a business portal providing sales order management for action sports industry manufacturers. Pearson also served as Chairman and principal film director of OPEN Films, an international commercial production company with clients such as AT&T, Budweiser, IBM, Nestle, ABC, Disney, Fox, Paramount and Sony Pictures. Pearson co-founded and was EVP of the iTV advertising company Random/Order, which developed ground-breaking iTV content formats, advertising, and TV data measurement software.

Krupa most recently worked at Article 1 in marketing and sales. While at Quiksilver, she also consulted on the documentary, “Riding Giants” and Sony’s animated feature “Surf’s Up.” Krupa has worked for Lynda Obst Productions, The Segan/Piller Co., and recently consulted for Azoff Entertainment.

K2, Inc announced today that J.Wayne Merck (the former COO) has been appointed President and CEO of K2 Inc. and on to the K2 Board of Directors. What has happened to chairman of the board Dick Heckmann? He’s still chairman of the board of directors, but he’s been given the uber-CEO title of Executive Chairman.

“Wayne is an accomplished leader and has a proven track record at K2, where he has been closely involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of K2 Inc. for the past six years,” said Mr. Heckmann. “We have built a strong team at K2 and will continue to do so. Since I will be 64 this year, Wayne and I, together with the Board of Directors, believed that it was the time to begin a smooth and seamless transition.

We didn’t know there was anything higher than President and CEO. Now we know.
