In snowboarding’s battle of the brands it’s difficult to just march in and snag a huge piece of market share over night. But, Rome Snowboards has made it look that easy. It’s been only five years since Rome appeared at the SIA show with a handcrafted log cabin and an old Tucker snowcat for a booth. Since then Rome has evolved into a graphically loud mega-brand with boards, boots, bindings, and sooner-than-later an outerwear line. Transworld Business interviewed founders Josh Reid and Paul Maravetz about how all this happened and what’s next.
