Kyle Lamb, a 13-year-old snowboarder from Ontario, Canada died after landing on his head and neck after hitting a 1.3-metre high jump in a field near his house:

They said the jump was at the base of a 50-metre hill with a 30-degree slope. He landed some two metres from the ramp and was unconscious, with no vital signs, when paramedics arrived at the scene. He was later declared dead in hospital.

First off. Im sorry for the lose of such a young snowboarder. You never think of something that serious happening with something so fun and “harmless”
I road park for 6 years without a helmet. I always thought they made me look stupid. When i eventually moved out west, i road one season before i decided that if i wanted to talk in complete sentences that i should get a helmet. So now i wear a helmet every day i ride. i dont even relize its on.
I just wish that magazines would at least push helmets more. and even throw in a article or two about how important it is to wear one. I do believe they are getting more popular but i just think they need to be pushed more. For the safety of the sport.
I understand that a helmet would not of worked for kyles situation, But i believe very strongly that from death so much good can come.
Hopefully with Kyles Friends they will wear helmets now. Just in case.
and who knows made have stickers made with something to remember Kyle by. What a sad misfortune. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
