4th ANNUAL FORUM YOUNGBLOOD SERIES TO HOST 26 NORTH AMERICAN CONTESTS IN 2006
IRVINE, CA – January 5, 2005 – Forum Snowboards is proud to announce that the 4th Annual Forum Youngblood Series will bring amateur snowboarding contests to 26 resorts throughout the US and Canada this winter. From January through the end of March, local up-and-coming male and female riders from each region will duke it out in slopestyle contests with hopes of taking home top honors and earning themselves a trip to the Forum Youngblood World Finals, as well as a coveted spot on Forum’s Youngblood amateur team.
The Youngblood Series is free to enter, and at each contest a maximum of 100 riders ages 18 and under will compete in slopestyle events with divisions broken out by age – women’s 18 and under, men’s 14 and under, and men’s 15-18. Judging will be based on style, consistency and innovation, and two overall winners (one male and one female) will be chosen from each regional contest. Regional winners will receive an exclusive prize pack featuring pre-released 2007 Forum product including boards from the aptly named Youngblood line, as well as an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the Forum Youngblood World Finals.
Slated to go down March 25th and 26th at California’s Sierra at Tahoe Resort, the Forum Youngblood World Finals will showcase the talents of all North American contest winners, as well as international Youngblood Series winners from Europe and New Zealand. This global collective of top amateur rippers will put it all on the line and go for broke on a custom-designed slopestyle course built by Snow Park Technologies. Judging will be handled by Forum’s world-renowned team of pro riders, and judging criteria will mirror that of the regional contests. When it is all said and done, the 2006 Youngblood Series’ overall male and female world champions will be crowned. The two deserving winners will not only earn lucrative mini sponsorships from Forum and spots on Forum’s Youngblood squad, but they will also appear in Forum’s highly-anticipated new team video set for release this Fall.
The 4th Annual Forum Youngblood Series is made possible in part through generous support from first-time sponsor Snickers. Log on to www.forum-snowboards.com to find out more.
