Update: December 10, 2004
It's Time for Serious Snowmaking at Mountain Creek Opening Day Saturday, December 18th at South
Vernon, NJ (December 10, 2004) - The forecast is calling for PERFECT snowmaking conditions here in Vernon New Jersey for most of next week, so
Mountain Creek is ready to have our snow guns blazing full tilt come Monday
night.
SnowLab 26 represents the most powerful snowmaking system money can buy, and
Mountain Creek can't wait to put all that horsepower to work next week to
ensure perfect corduroy for guests eagerly awaiting opening day on December
18th at South. We'll be open from 9am until 9pm so make sure you have your
season pass or Triple Play Card!
Manmade snow is not artificial or fake snow! It is indeed real snow. Snow
crystals, regardless of how they are created, are minute crystals of frozen
water. Manmade snow is however, more dense. We take our snowmaking
seriously. Take one look at our burly snowmaking system and you'll agree.
We've added 4 new fan guns (snow guns) to our superpipe this season to
guarantee the best possible conditions. With the right temperatures, each of
these guns can convert almost 200 gallons of water to snow per minute!
We've also upgraded our snowmaking abilities on several trails as part of
our ongoing project, recently replaced 35,000 feet of snowmaking pipe on
Vernon Peak, and relocated some pipelines, widening the usable trail space
on Kyber and Indian Passes.
When temperatures permit, SnoLab 26 will be blowing all week long, plus
there is natural snow in the forecast! The guns are out, the hoses are
hooked up and we're ready for Monday's temps...its time for some serious
snowmaking!
Don't forget, Triple Play cards are still available, that's three full days
on the hill for just $59. Are you ready to make first tracks opening day?
