Hey Sacklunch!
Thanks for mentioning my piece about skating in the Sidney Morning
Herald. Unfortunately, it was an edited version of a piece from
another magazine that was originally a lot longer and, well, better.
Just to clarify, I never called Tony Hawk a sellout in either
piece (in the SMH they did, in their tag line), and I don't think
he is a sellout. I may not like his style--but that's a different
thing.
As for ME being a sellout because I "quit skating years ago"--that's
just not true! I skate every day.
This is the 2nd-to-lat paragraph of my original piece:
Skateboarding is the most lasting gift a friend ever gave me.
I now skate on that same Natas Kaupas board, every freezing, New
York, wish-I-was-in-San Francisco day.
